GPS-logger i-gotU GT-820 Pro

a Couple of years I have used the GPS logger i-gotU GT-200 (review once wrote here — habrahabr.ru/post/121266). He was bought in a hurry and, although it served me faithfully, always wanted something more. After the recent review of the two loggers I finally have the desire to change has reached the point at which the purchase is made.

What is ideally wanted from the logger:
the
    the
  • at least two days of operation on a single charge. Possible.
  • the
  • Convenient control buttons. For one large button the size of the whole body — a bad decision.
  • the
  • memory Card or internal memory.
  • the
  • from replaceable batteries (AA or AAA) or charging via standard microUSB.
  • the
  • getting a gpx file on exit.
  • the
  • Small size.
  • the
  • Screen with information about time, speed and all the useful stuff.
  • the
  • Voice memo.

After reading the review and comments to it, I like the links stopped at i-gotU GT-820 Pro.

at least two days of operation on a single charge. Possible.

Monday morning was included and put it in his pocket — in the morning of Friday, there were still two bars of battery out of three. The logger has a built-in motion sensor, which works as a pedometer, and includes a sleep mode when the device is not moving for a long time.

Convenient control buttons. For one large button the size of the whole body — a bad decision.

Three buttons on each side — on/confirm, up/install the POI and down/turn on the backlight. Quite handy.

memory Card or internal memory.

No memory card. But built — in 8 megabytes should be enough for 200 thousand records. I was quite happy setting determines the default distance between points in three seconds, so that memory — for a week of continuous operation. Not sure what battery that long.

Work from replaceable batteries (AA or AAA) or charging via standard microUSB.

The battery is non-replaceable. Generally, all the data loggers on AA or AAA large enough, Yes the battery usually sits suddenly, without indication, therefore does not suffer from the internal battery. Charging via microUSB available, through the same connection to the computer to reset tracks.

getting a gpx file on exit.

Here is no different from the old logger program A-Trip to download the track and export it to gpx.

Small size.

Size (65 x 42 x 17.3 mm) is slightly larger than the old logger, but not much, relaxed fit in the same pockets. Especially given the fact that the old logger was modding the case of roulette. :)

Screen with information about time, speed and all the useful stuff.

Six customizable modes which you can toggle the display of information in the fields. For example, instead of speed on the first screen, you can include the calories.

Compass. GPS or magnetic. I have not earned — apparently badly eight. :)

notes.

It is not. But the other advantages outweigh this disadvantage.

Bonuses.

Additional functionality that is available, but not terribly important to me:
the
    the
  • IPX7 Waterproof — maybe half an hour to be at a depth of one meter. But button pushing is not recommended.
  • the
  • Digital compass (Magnetic Field Sensor: YAMAHA YAS529) — failed to configure. It is necessary to draw in the air a couple of eights, a few minutes of trying, nothing came of it. :)
  • the
  • Barometric altimeter (Pressure Sensor: BOSCH BMP180) — it seems to work, but seriously not watched.
  • the
  • Possibility to use as a bike computer, heart rate monitor is an optional Supplement, my kit not included.

Experience.

Good. Long holds the battery, the display is informative, easy management.
The track begins to write somewhere in five minutes after leaving the room. I not fatal, but generally not very tidy, especially considering that a dozen satellites can be seen in a minute.
Information counter (pedometer, distance, etc.) resets at midnight. Tracks doesn't reset.
Time takes from the satellite to the desired time zone is adjusted by the owner in increments of 15 or 20 minutes.
Under Windows 7 x64 and Windows 8 x64 driver rose without problems.
When I got it out of the box, the memory was two tracks on Shengjing. Whether with tests, or just the Chinese played. :)

The ideal, of course, failed, but got close enough. I am pleased with the acquisition.
