Hi all. One day, while reading design chat in slack, I came across an interesting site wlppr.co — it contains satellite photos of our planet, ukrepleni under iPhones of different generations and bear download links. Pictures, by the way, impressive!
This website gave me the idea that it would be great to be able to create similar Wallpapers, have the ability to move the photo, change the scale.
Thus was born Topia.
The first prototype was made in 5 minutes marvel-app
It was assumed that the application will be made for a couple of hours, but in the end, development took almost a month. Interface redesigned and decided to draw a button, instead of hardwarea combination of buttons.
Then he created website. Here, too, had to work hard. And simple version-born an adaptive, then did a blur effect panel iPhone using pyramidal on WebGL (using the library glfx.js)
And now you can look at the app itself in the App Store
All the images we take with the official account of the European Space Agency in Flickr using the Flickr API. Therefore, we have not yet learned to clean up poor quality images. But, fortunately, not a lot.
With the app you can create a Wallpaper size for your screen, be it iphone 4s or 6 plus. Unfortunately ios does not allow to steer the Wallpaper on the phone, so the pictures are saved to you a gallery, where they can already be set.
